1. Acceptance

By installing or using PromptGnome ("the Extension"), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, uninstall the Extension.

2. Description of Service

PromptGnome is a browser extension that detects personally identifiable information (PII) in messages you compose on supported AI chatbot websites. The free tier provides regex-based detection and warnings. The Pro tier adds NER-based detection, auto-anonymization, and additional features.

3. Free and Pro Tiers

The free tier includes regex-based PII detection for 18 entity types, a warning overlay, and basic statistics. Pro features require a paid subscription at $2.99/month or $29/year. A 14-day free trial of Pro features is available. Subscriptions are processed through ExtensionPay/Stripe and are subject to their respective terms.

4. No Guarantee of Detection

PromptGnome uses pattern matching and optional machine learning to detect PII. No detection system is perfect. The Extension may miss some PII (false negatives) or incorrectly flag non-PII text (false positives). You remain responsible for reviewing your messages before sending them to any AI service.

5. No Liability

The Extension is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any damages arising from the use or inability to use the Extension, including but not limited to: PII that was not detected, messages that were incorrectly blocked, or any issues with AI chatbot services caused by the Extension.

6. Cancellation & Refund Policy

        Summary: You may cancel your Pro subscription at any time. Refunds are available within 7 days of purchase if you are not satisfied. No questions asked.
      

7. Privacy

Our privacy practices are described in our Privacy Policy. By using the Extension, you also agree to our Privacy Policy.

8. Intellectual Property

PromptGnome is closed-source proprietary software that is free to use. You may not reverse engineer, decompile, or create derivative works of any portion of the Extension.

9. Modifications

We may update the Extension and these terms at any time. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

10. Termination

You may stop using the Extension at any time by uninstalling it. We may discontinue the Extension or revoke Pro access for violations of these terms.

11. Governing Law

These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes arising from these terms or the use of the Extension shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in India.
